Getting Back Into Shape

So, it’s been a very long while since I’ve been anything close to what someone would call “in shape.” Basically, I have kids, an office job, and I’m lazy with eating, all of which factor in greatly to my fat feelings and look that I got going right now. Lately, I have decided to get off my butt and work out more often. No need to look like a skinny size 0-2 or anything like that, but enough to look and feel better about myself.

The initial goal is modest at 10 pounds in a month. It could also be a bit extreme since I’m not exactly overly obese but it’s a goal none the less, and I’ll adjust as I learn my limitations. My initial focus will be exercising regularly because if I can keep how much I eat the same it should be enough to start taking off the weight. Now it’s just a matter of taking the time to actually workout, it can be quiet the challenge with kids going in a million directions.

As time continues I’ll ease into learning to eat more nutritiously. That’s going to be a major learning curve right there, although it’s probably more about portion control than anything else, at least that’s what I’ve been lead to believe.

Ultimately, I’d like to be about 30 pounds lighter if possible. In doing so, it’s my hope to have more energy for my kids and day to day life. Having small arms again that don’t have that extra jiggly flab would be also very nice too.
